As we slowly roll out of the winter months, spring is coming on like gangbusters. You know what that means. Yep, time to do some spring cleaning. Here are some tips to help. 1. Shower Door Cleaning - When it comes to shower doors, getting them clean can be difficult. Use white vinegar. It will always do a better job than any commercial product. 2. Cleaning Shower Walls - Cleaning shower walls is not nearly as hard as many people make it. Use a floor mop. You will still have to twist a bit, but it will be much easier on your body. For cleaning products, use basic dishwasher soap. 3. Putting the Shine in Glass Covered Paintings - These days, many people protect paintings or pictures with a glass cover. First and foremost, do not use water to clean the glass. 4. Candle Wax in Carpet – If you get candle wax in your carpet, grab the iron and a brown bag. Place the bag over the wax and apply the iron. The wax will melt into the bag. 5. Cleaning Dirty Eyeglasses – You are going to love this one. Clean dirty eyeglasses with vodka. I swear it does the job. 6. Scrubbing to Music – Distractions can be a beautiful thing when you are doing something less than fun. To get through a big cleaning project, try putting on some music. Even better, try listening to a comedian. It will make the time pass quicker. 7. Allergies and Cleaning – If you have allergies, take your medication before cleaning your place. Cleaning is primarily about the removal of dirt and dust. 8. Remove Rust on Furniture – If you have metal pieces on your furniture, they will inevitably start to rust. Rub them with turpentine. Does the trick every time. 9. Garbage Disposal Smell – Does your garbage disposal smell to high heaven? Cut up some lemons and throw them in with the rinds still on. Run water and turn the disposal on. Always does the trick unless something has died. 10. Storing Cleaning Products – Cleaning products are a bit dangerous around flames or too much heat. Store them in low, cool areas such as the bottom of a closet or under the sink. A thorough cleaning of your house should happen at least a couple of times a year. You might groan at the idea, but you will feel much better when it is completed.
