Hands Can Make Burdens Light “My hands make burdens light.” This is a saying that I have taught my children. Whenever there is complaining or twisted faces over chores, errands, or favors I remind them to say aloud, “My hands make YOUR burdens light, Mom.” I remind them how much they help me and what a blessing it is for me when they do. Raising a Hard Working Family How many times have we met or know of people who are slovenly, lazy, or who do not work hard? For these people it shows in their homes as well as in the lives they lead. My father has always been a hard working man. He was raised on a 2,000 acre ranch which always had hard work in the natural elements, and everyone had responsibilities that could not be shirked. He has a strong work ethic that he instilled in each of his four daughters. It has to be pretty funny to get me laughing…I’m not into “dumb” humor. But, I DO enjoy a hearty belly laugh! Decorating When You Can’t Use Paint I enjoy the freedom of decorating when I own my own home! It makes it harder for me when we are constantly moving away from that house with the military to rent others. In our first few rentals, I would paint little stencils, but that quickly became a pain to repaint so many houses. Importance of Dusting Is this a thing of the past? You rarely see anything about dusting or the importance of it these days. My personal opinion is that people are not taught the importance of it. Rather, they view it as just an extra thing on their “to-do” list. Comfort Decorating Everyone wants to be comfortable in their own homes. Your home is a safe haven from the world.
